Atletico Madrid Set to Renew Giuliano Simeone's Contract

Atletico Madrid is preparing to announce soon the renewal of Argentine striker Giuliano Simeone's contract, the son of coach Diego Simeone, after both parties reached a nearly final agreement during the current international break.

The 22-year-old player, who is in his second season with the first team, has become a key element in the Atlético Madrid lineup thanks to his fighting performance and significant role on the right flank, both in attack and defense.

So far this season, Giuliano has played 16 matches in all competitions, during which he scored 3 goals and provided 5 assists. He has also been awarded the Man of the Match three times this season, the latest being against Belgian team Union Saint-Gilloise in the Champions League.

According to Marca, Atlético's management is working on extending his contract until 2030, along with improving his salary, which is among the lowest in the team, as a reward for his outstanding performances.

Juliano, who previously played for River Plate before moving to Atlético, had two loan spells with Real Zaragoza and Deportivo Alavés, before establishing himself as a key player in his father's lineup.

It is worth noting that this step will be the first major sports move for Matteo Alemany since joining the club's management, after taking over the negotiations that were initiated by Carlos Bousquet earlier.
