Frenkie de Jong Clarifies His Stance on Moving to the Premier League

Wednesday 12-11-2025
Frenkie de Jong, the Barcelona midfielder, confirmed that he is happy with his journey at the Catalan club and does not prioritize a move to the Premier League, despite Manchester United's interest in signing him, according to the website "CaughtOffside."

De Jong said: "The Premier League? I don't think so, there are offers, but I'm happy at Barcelona. The Premier League is the best right now, just like La Liga was ten years ago, but that doesn't mean you have to play there to prove you're a great player."

De Jong was a target for Manchester United during Erik ten Hag's tenure, and he has been known to receive offers from other English clubs, but the player does not seem in a hurry to move to Old Trafford.

Experts indicate that the English club may currently focus on other options to fill the midfield position, especially with the presence of young talents in the Premier League such as Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, and Elliot Anderson, who could represent realistic and long-term options for the club.
