Tuesday 11-11-2025
The debate continues regarding the future of French defender Dayot Upamecano with Bayern Munich, as negotiations to renew his contract have stalled for more than a year and a half without reaching a final agreement, according to the German newspaper "Bild".

In statements made by Upamecano to the French newspaper "L'Équipe", he said: "My agent is handling the negotiations, and we will make the right decision. I receive good advice, and I am only focusing on this season and my goals with the club and the national team; I am not preoccupied with it right now."

The newspaper clarified that Upamecano's current agent, Moussa Sissoko, is known for being difficult to negotiate with and has strong connections with Paris Saint-Germain, one of the clubs interested in signing the player on a free transfer next summer, alongside Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

Regarding his future with the Bavarian club, Upamecano added: "I am completely calm; I have a contract with Bayern Munich and clear goals, but I am grateful for the interest from other clubs."

Bild noted that Bayern's management has begun to explore potential defensive alternatives in case the player departs, with notable names being Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace and Ibrahima Konaté from Liverpool.

Upamecano also emphasized at the end of his remarks the special relationship with his coach Vincent Kompany, saying: "I have tried to develop many aspects thanks to a great coach. Since Kompany's arrival, a lot has changed; he has taught us how to defend better."
