Tuesday 11-11-2025
The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' praised the performance of English star Marcus Rashford, who continues to shine with impressive numbers at Barcelona this season, after providing two assists to his teammate Robert Lewandowski in the victory over Celta Vigo at the Balaídos Stadium, raising his tally to 6 goals and 7 assists in various competitions.

The newspaper pointed out that Rashford has become the player with the most assists in the five major European leagues, tied with Luis Milla and Vitinha, noting that throughout his 12-season professional career, he has surpassed this rate in only half of them. It also added that the player takes most of the set pieces in the absence of Raphinha, and one of the corner kicks he executed led to Barcelona's fourth goal against Celta Vigo.

The newspaper further added that Rashford is experiencing his best scoring period with an offensive production rate of 1.04 goals per game, which is the highest in his career, surpassing his previous rates with Aston Villa and Manchester United. Despite this, the player suffers from low effectiveness in La Liga, as he is the third most shot player in the major leagues with 39 shots, but has scored only two goals, far from the numbers of Mbappe and Haaland.

The newspaper also noted that Rashford outperforms most of the England national team's forwards in terms of goal contributions, having scored and assisted more than Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden combined, while only captain Harry Kane, who has 21 goals, surpasses him.

The report confirmed that coach Hans Flick had asked his players before the match against Celta Vigo to regain their fighting spirit, and Rashford was one of the most prominent players to respond to that call, effectively leading the attacking pressure, confirming his ability to combine decisiveness and contribution within the Catalan team.
