Raja Members Officially Protest Against Wydad Officials
Friday 14-11-2025
Members of the Raja Sports Club sent an official protest letter to both the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the National Professional Football League, as well as to the Casablanca-Settat region and the Greater Casablanca Security Directorate. In the letter, they expressed their strong condemnation of what they described as "inappropriate behavior" exhibited by some officials of Wydad Athletic Club.

The members clarified in an official statement that the reason for the protest is a promotional video that recently circulated on social media, during which international player Hakim Ziyech was introduced as a new player for Wydad, without his name being explicitly mentioned in the text of the statement.

The protesters considered that the video, attributed to one of the officials of the red team, contained insulting phrases and sarcastic comments that they viewed as a direct provocation to the Raja fans. They pointed out that such behavior contradicts the values of fair competition and threatens the atmosphere of mutual respect between the two clubs.

The statement pointed out that this incident is not the first of its kind, but rather a continuation of "irresponsible" statements and actions that fuel intolerance and exacerbate tensions between the fans of both teams, warning of its negative repercussions on the sporting atmosphere both inside and outside the stadiums.

The members of Raja emphasized their commitment to the values of respect and discipline, affirming their determination to keep the club as a model of civilized sports behavior, especially with Morocco preparing to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025.

The statement urged the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to take the necessary measures regarding what they described as "repeated violations," in order to preserve the image of national football and ensure the continuation of fair competition among the components of the game.
