Flick Develops Special Plan for Rashford

A Spanish news report mentioned that Marcus Rashford was aware that his role with Barcelona would be as an "impact substitute" who comes in to change the pace of the game, especially with a key attacking trio that is untouchable.

According to the Catalan newspaper "Sport," the early injuries of Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, and Raphinha forced the German coach to rely on the English player sooner than planned.

Since the start of the season, Rashford has been a starter in 12 out of 15 matches and has played 1,046 minutes, during which he scored 6 goals and provided 7 assists, averaging a goal contribution every 80 minutes, which is an impressive rate for a player who came on as a substitute.

Despite his significant offensive impact, the absence of Raphinha revealed a clear deficiency in the defensive aspect on the left side, as the Brazilian was a key element in high pressing and tactical work last season.

Flick is currently working on developing Rashford's team play, particularly regarding defensive commitment and organized pressing. It is worth noting that the player is still in the adaptation period, but he has participated more than initially planned, which has accelerated his integration process.

Raphinha is expected to return after the international break to reclaim his starting position, which could return Rashford to his original role as a "super sub" coming off the bench, but fully prepared for any scenario.
