Al-Ahli Surprises Its Fans with an Unexpected Decision Before the Jeddah Derby Against Al-Ittihad
Friday 07-11-2025
The Al-Ahli team is preparing to face its rival Al-Ittihad in the eighth round of the Saudi League, which will take place at the Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, with a large crowd expected.

The Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" revealed that the Al-Ahli club decided to rely on small flags as the main means of encouraging players in the derby, completely foregoing the usual tifo that is typically displayed on such occasions.

Sources have indicated that the Al Ahly fan stand, which constitutes 10% of the stadium's capacity, will not feature a tifos this time. Instead, more than 2,000 small flags will be distributed to the fans, along with large flags and special banners to decorate the front façade.

Reports indicate that the expected number of Al-Ahli fans attending the Jeddah derby will reach around 6,000 supporters, who will be located on the right side of the main stand and in the premium section designated for the team.

The Jeddah Derby between Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli will kick off on Saturday evening at 8:30 PM Saudi time. Al-Ahli is currently in sixth place with 13 points, while Al-Ittihad is in eighth place with 11 points after seven rounds of the tournament.
