Al-Hilal Faces a Major Defensive Blow

Wednesday 05-11-2025
Al-Hilal suffered a significant loss in their defense after confirming that their defender Ali Lajami will be out for a long time due to an injury sustained during the match against Al-Gharafa of Qatar in the AFC Champions League on Monday evening.

The Saudi newspaper "Al-Jazeera" reported that Najmi will be sidelined from participating with Al-Hilal for up to two months due to an injury to the hamstring, as confirmed by the medical examinations the player underwent.

Lajami will miss several important matches for Al-Hilal, including games against Al-Najma, Al-Fateh, Al-Taawun, and Al-Khaleej in rounds 8, 9, 10, and 11 of the Saudi Roshan League, as well as matches against the Iraqi Police and Sharjah from the UAE in the AFC Champions League.

The الهلال will be without the services of its player in the match against الفتح in the quarter-finals of the King’s Cup, scheduled for November 29. This presents an additional challenge for the Italian coach, Simone Inzaghi, given the crowded competition schedule.

Lajami is considered an important defensive option in Al-Hilal's lineup this season, especially as a ready substitute to compensate for the absence of either of the two key players, Hassan Tambakti or Khalidou Koulibaly, in the center-back position. His prolonged absence would be a significant loss for the team.
