The Spanish club Atletico Madrid achieved an important victory over its Belgian rival Saint-Gilloise with a score of 3-1, in the match that took place in the fourth round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League at the Metropolitano Stadium.

Atletico Madrid opened the scoring in the 39th minute through the outstanding Argentine star Julian Alvarez, before Connor Gallagher added the second goal in the 73rd minute.

Saint-Gilloise managed to reduce the deficit by scoring their first goal in the 80th minute through player Ross Sykes, and Atletico Madrid succeeded in scoring the third goal in the 90+6 minute through Marcos Llorente.

With this valuable victory, Atletico Madrid raised its points to 6, placing them in 15th position in the standings, while Saint-Gilloise's points remained at 3, placing them in 27th position.
