Barcelona Faces Two Challenges Against Elche in La Liga
Sunday 02-11-2025
According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", the Barcelona team, led by coach Hans Flick, is facing Elche in La Liga amid two prominent challenges, one positive and the other negative.

The newspaper clarified that Barcelona has managed to score in 49 consecutive matches across all competitions since December 15, 2024, when they drew 0-0 against Leganés in the 17th round of La Liga. Since that date, the team has scored in all its matches: 31 in La Liga, 5 in the Copa del Rey, 11 in the UEFA Champions League, and 2 in the Spanish Super Cup.

The newspaper added that this streak broke the historical record set in 1944, when Barcelona scored in 44 consecutive matches. It also pointed out that player Ferran Torres, who scored against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, could achieve his 50th goal in a Barcelona shirt during the upcoming match against Elche.

On the other hand, the team is going through a negative defensive streak, having conceded goals in the last 7 consecutive matches, which is the worst record since the time of coach Ronald Koeman. The last time Barcelona kept a clean sheet was against Getafe on September 21.

The newspaper confirmed that coach Hans Flick expressed his surprise at Pedri's sudden injury during the press conference before the match, noting the importance of overcoming this phase and regaining defensive solidity as soon as possible.
