Egyptian referee analyst Mohamed Kamal Risha strongly opposed the refereeing decision witnessed in the match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Khaleej in the Roshen Saudi League, concerning the red card issued to the Al-Ittihad player Fabinho Tavares.

Risha clarified that the incident did not warrant a red card, considering the referee's handling of the situation to be exaggerated and unfair to the Brazilian player.

He pointed out that Fabinho was engaged in a natural struggle for the ball with Al-Khaleej player Majid Kanbah, and he was able to reach and kick the ball before the contact occurred.

He added that Fabinho's foot collided with his opponent's foot after the ball was cleared, which falls under cases of extreme recklessness rather than violence, meaning that the appropriate action would have been to issue only a yellow card.

Risha confirmed that the red card affected the course of the match, emphasizing that such decisions should be more precise to avoid injustice to teams and players.

He concluded his statements by noting that the referee was not successful in assessing the situation, stressing the need to review the case from a refereeing perspective to ensure that such mistakes are not repeated in the future.
