Achieving a historic milestone, RS Berkane has qualified for the group stage of the African Champions League for the first time after defeating their Libyan guest, Al Ahli Tripoli, with a score of (2-1) in the match that took place on Saturday evening at the municipal stadium in Berkane, as part of the second preliminary round of the continental competition.

The Libyan team opened the scoring early in the tenth minute through their player, Muayad Al-Lafi. However, the Berkane team managed to return to the game thanks to the equalizing goal scored by Paul Valer Bassein in the 28th minute, restoring balance to the score before the end of the first half.

In the second half of the match, the home team continued their attacking pressure, leading Ayoub Khairy to score the second goal in the 53rd minute, granting his team a valuable victory and a historic ticket to the group stage.

This achievement comes in the team's first appearance in the African Champions League, following their victory last season in winning their first title in the Moroccan professional league, thus continuing their upward trajectory at both local and continental levels.

It is worth noting that the first leg match between the two teams in Tripoli ended in a positive draw (1-1), which gave RS Berkane the advantage due to their home victory in the return leg.
