Al-Zawraa achieved an important victory against its host Mosul with a score of three goals to one, in the match that brought the two teams together at Duhok Stadium, as part of the sixth round of the Iraqi Stars League.

Al-Zawraa entered the match with high spirits after its recent victory over Al-Qasim in the last round, and started the game strongly, with Bahraini player Mahdi Al-Humaidan opening the scoring in the 22nd minute, before the same player added the second goal in the 25th minute, ending the first half with Al-Zawraa leading Mosul by two goals to none.

In the second half, Al-Zawraa continued its superiority, adding the third goal through Hassan Abdul-Karim 'Quqia' in the 58th minute, with a magnificent shot that found the net.

Meanwhile, the only goal for Mosul was scored by player Rosh Fonning in the 60th minute, and the match ended with Al-Zawraa winning.

With this victory, Al-Zawraa raised its points to 8, sitting in the twelfth position, while Mosul's points remained at 6, dropping to the fourteenth position.
