Newcastle United Targets Signing of Sorloth

Media reports have revealed that English club Newcastle United is interested in signing Norwegian striker Alexander Sorloth, who plays for Spanish club Atletico Madrid, in the upcoming period.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Marca," Newcastle is looking to strengthen its attacking line following the departure of former striker Alexander Isak to Liverpool during the last summer transfer window.

The newspaper clarified that Newcastle's management is considering completing the deal in the upcoming winter transfer market instead of waiting until the end of the season, in order to enhance the team's attacking options in the second half of the season.

"Marca" also indicated that scouts from the English club attended the Madrid derby last month to closely observe Sorloth, who managed to score a goal in Atletico's 5-2 victory over Real Madrid.

Newcastle's interest in signing Sorloth comes as he gradually distances himself from the starting lineup of the Madrid team, as coach Diego Simeone has preferred to rely on other attacking options.

The 29-year-old Norwegian striker has participated in 11 matches with Atletico Madrid this season across various competitions, during which he scored two goals.
