Guardiola Assures Manchester City Fans Before Swansea Match
Tuesday 28-10-2025
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, reassured the club's fans regarding the condition of several of his players before facing Swansea City tomorrow, Wednesday, in the fourth round of the EFL Cup.

This comes after Manchester City's defeat to Aston Villa by a goal to nil in the last round of the Premier League, a loss that ended the team's unbeaten streak at nine consecutive matches across all competitions, amid clear struggles in midfield despite John Stones participating in the defensive pivot role.

During the press conference held today, Tuesday, Guardiola said: "Uzbek defender Abduqodir Khosanov is ready to play a few minutes tomorrow, he has trained well in the past days after recovering from the injury he sustained against Arsenal last September."

Regarding the condition of striker Erling Haaland, who suffered a strong bruise after colliding with the post in the Aston Villa match, the Spanish coach clarified: "Haaland is improving day by day, I didn't see him today but we will train in the evening and see his exact condition."

As for midfielder Rodri, who is suffering from a muscle injury, Guardiola confirmed that he has not fully recovered yet, stating: "Rodri is not ready yet, he is training with us partially, and after his recurring muscle injuries, we will handle him with caution and monitor his progress throughout the week."

Manchester City hopes to return to the winning path against Swansea before entering a series of tough matches against Bournemouth, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool in the Premier League and the Champions League.
