Inter Player Kills Man in Accident
The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported that Inter Milan's second goalkeeper, Josep Martinez, hit an elderly man in a wheelchair with his car, resulting in the man's death.
According to the newspaper, this unfortunate incident occurred with the 27-year-old Spanish player at 9:30 AM in Appiano Gentile (Inter's training ground).
It noted that rescue efforts were unsuccessful in saving the elderly man, who is believed to have suffered a health issue that caused him to veer into the opposite lane, where the accident occurred.
As a result, the press conference for Romanian Cristian Chivu, Inter's manager, which was scheduled to discuss the team's upcoming match against Fiorentina in Serie A, was canceled.
