Marquinhos Clarifies His Position on Leaving Paris Saint-Germain
Monday 27-10-2025
Brazilian defender Marquinhos, captain of Paris Saint-Germain, has clarified his position regarding the possibility of leaving the team, according to media reports.

Although Marquinhos's contract with the club runs until June 2028, there were speculations about a potential transfer to the Saudi league in the summer of 2026. However, the French newspaper 'L'Equipe' confirmed that the Brazilian defender is not setting a date for leaving the club and is currently focused on maintaining his competitive level and avoiding any decline.

Marquinhos recently returned to the pitch after a month-long absence due to an injury sustained during the classic match against Olympique Marseille in September, and he contributed to his team's 3-0 victory over Brest last Saturday.

The captain of Paris Saint-Germain is close to a historic achievement, as he needs to play only four more matches to reach 500 matches in the club's jersey, a milestone that no other player has achieved in the team's history.

Last season, the 31-year-old Marquinhos participated in 48 matches across various competitions and was one of the defensive pillars that helped Paris Saint-Germain achieve a double of the UEFA Champions League and the French league.
