The Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, winger for Real Madrid, sparked widespread controversy after his angry reaction following his substitution during the Clasico match against Barcelona, which took place on Sunday evening at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium as part of the tenth round of La Liga.

Vinicius was seen expressing his displeasure as he left the field in the 71st minute, after coach Xabi Alonso decided to substitute him for his teammate Rodrygo, as he shouted towards the bench and raised his hands nervously towards the stands.

According to DAZAN network, Vinicius said while heading to the locker room: "I will leave the team... I will leave, it’s better for me to leave," which prompted goalkeeper coach Luis Yubas to intervene to contain the situation, before the player returned minutes later to sit on the bench.

Despite this incident, Real Madrid managed to win against Barcelona with a score of two goals to one, continuing to top the La Liga standings.

Xabi Alonso commented on the incident in the post-match press conference, confirming that the matter will be handled internally within the team, saying: "We will not discuss the matter publicly; what happened will remain within the team."
