John Edward Calls on Zamalek Fans to Be Patient
John Edward, the sports director of Zamalek, sent an emotional message to the club's fans in an official statement via Facebook.
The statement came after Edward faced criticism from Zamalek fans during the match against the Somali team, Dakadaha, in the African Confederation.
In the statement, the sports director of Zamalek said: "To the beloved and supportive fans of Zamalek, to those whom I am honored to belong to before I am honored by the position, to the support that has never let down their club, no matter how fierce the storms may be."
He continued: "We all know that Zamalek is going through a critical phase, and a suffocating financial crisis has cast its shadow on every detail of our work, but history bears witness that this entity has never stood strong without you, and it has never risen after every fall except through your efforts."
He added: "I accepted this task believing in you, driven by my confidence in a fanbase that understands that belonging is not just a chant in the stands but a stance in times of adversity and patience through wounds until victory blooms from the womb of pain."
He elaborated: "I know your sincere support, and I feel it everywhere I go, and I also understand your anger when it intensifies, for the anger of a lover only comes from a loving heart. And I tell you honestly, if you knew what we know about the details and the obstacles we face, you would find us an excuse as we have always known you to be a noble and aware fanbase that does not abandon its beloved club, no matter the circumstances."
He continued: "I have never been accustomed to fleeing from confrontation, nor jumping from the ship at the time of turbulent waves. The important journey we started together, we will complete it together, and no criticism or fatigue will deter us."
He clarified: "It is our promise to continue to exert our utmost effort sincerely, to keep Zamalek standing tall as you have always known it to be, a resilient competitor and a fortress of dignity and pride. However, success is not made by individuals, but by intertwined sincere hands and shared faith."
Edward, who specifically addressed the club's white fans, stated: "I urge you to continue your support and backing for the team, as everyone is working under extremely difficult conditions to make you happy, and without you, the mission becomes impossible."
He added: "I appreciate your demands, and I understand your anger, and I strive with all that is available to achieve what befits you and our club. I ask you - from the heart - not to let anger become a bridge for those who do not wish well for Zamalek, and do not allow anyone to exploit your noble feelings to turn them into a weapon directed at your club's chest."
He concluded: "For you are the fortress of Zamalek and the secret of its survival, and with you, as it has always been, the club will cross this phase, which is considered the most difficult in its history. Zamalek has never experienced a more brutal and complicated period than this stage, but our faith in you and your ability to endure and support is what assures us that we will overcome it together, as our club has always done."
