The newspaper pointed out that the encounters between the players date back to the time Carreras played for Granada, when Yamal scored his first goals in La Liga at the age of just 16, and the match repeated last season when Carreras was a player for Benfica, where he delivered an impressive performance against him, which caught the attention of Real Madrid and prompted the club to move to sign him for around 50 million euros.

The report added that the royal club highlighted in the player's presentation video clips of his brilliance against Barcelona, which included an assist and several successful duels against Yamal. Since then, Carreras has become one of the key pillars in Xabi Alonso's project, ranking third among the team's players in minutes played after Mbappé and Tchouaméni.

In his previous encounters with Barcelona while wearing the Benfica jersey, Carreras faced Lamine Yamal twice, in which the latter was unable to score or assist, while he did score when Carreras missed the third match due to suspension.
