Inter Miami announced this evening the renewal of the contract of its Argentine captain Lionel Messi until the summer of 2028, allowing him to continue his career in Major League Soccer wearing the jersey of the team he joined in 2023.

The announcement came via an official video published by the club on its social media accounts, confirming that Messi signed a new contract with the team.

Messi has signed a contract that extends until 2028, to lead Inter Miami's project in the coming years.

Messi joined Inter Miami in July 2023 as a free agent on a two-and-a-half-year contract after concluding his journey in Europe.

The Argentine legend won the award for Best Player in Major League Soccer in 2024 and the Golden Boot in 2025 after scoring 29 goals in just 28 matches.
