Sources informed "Al-Riyadiya" that the captain of the Al-Hilal first football team, Salem Al-Dosari, will not be able to participate in the anticipated classic against Al-Ittihad, scheduled to take place next Friday at the "Al-Inma" Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

The sources indicated that the 34-year-old player is still undergoing a treatment program following an injury to his pelvic area, which has hindered his physical and technical readiness, and the medical staff has not set a final date for his return to group training.

Al-Dosari had participated in the Saudi national team's match against Iraq in the Asian qualifying playoff for the 2026 World Cup in mid-October, before missing matches against Al-Ettifaq in the league and Al-Sadd of Qatar in the AFC Champions League due to injury.

Recently, the Saudi star won the award for Best Player in Asia for 2025 during a ceremony organized by the Asian Football Confederation at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh, surpassing both Qatari Akram Afif and Malaysian Aref Ayman from Johor Darul Ta'zim.

The Al-Hilal team is preparing to perform its final training session on Thursday evening, after which it will head to Jeddah directly, where Italian coach Simone Inzaghi will finalize his choices for the foreign players participating in the match.

Al-Hilal occupies fourth place in the Saudi Roshan League standings with 11 points, after winning against Riyadh, Al-Akhidood, and Al-Ettifaq, while drawing against Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Ahli, seeking to reduce the gap with the leader at the top of the sixth round.
