English defender Harry Maguire, a player for Manchester United, has won the Player of the Week award for the eighth week of the 2025/2026 season, following his remarkable performance against Liverpool.

Maguire's headed goal in the 84th minute against the defending champions Liverpool was crucial in securing a 2-1 victory, granting Manchester United their first win at Anfield since January 2016. He also displayed excellent defensive skills, thwarting the attacking threat posed by Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak, further solidifying his role as a key player in the team.

Maguire received 42% of the fan votes in the weekly poll, surpassing his closest competitor, league top scorer Erling Haaland, who garnered only 14%. Other nominees included Philippe Mateta (12%), Bukayo Saka (11%), Reece James (10%), Nordi Mukiele (7%), Pedro Neto (3%), and Junior Kroupi (1%).
