Saudi Al-Hilal player Hamad Al-Yami is undergoing a thorough medical examination on Sunday to determine the extent of the muscle injury he sustained during his team's recent match against Al-Ettifaq, which ended with Al-Hilal winning 5-0 in the fifth round of the Roshan Saudi League.

A source told Al-Riyadiyah newspaper that the results of the tests will determine the possibility of the 26-year-old player participating in the match against Qatari Al-Sadd, scheduled for next Tuesday at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, as part of the third round of the AFC Champions League.

Italian coach Simone Inzaghi was forced to substitute Al-Yami in the 45th minute of the first half after he suffered a muscle injury, bringing in Mutaib Al-Harbi to complete the match.

Inzaghi's reliance on Al-Yami came after the absence of Portuguese Joao Cancelo, who was injured during the match against Qatari Al-Duhail in the opening of the team's Asian campaign, giving the Saudi player more opportunities to participate recently.
