Ikrami Justifies His Comments on Donating to Zamalek
Ikrami El-Shahat, the former star of Al-Ahly, responded to the criticism from Mohamed Abdel-Monsef, the former Zamalek goalkeeper, regarding his suggestion to donate to Zamalek.
Ikrami had proposed on MBC Masr 1 channel to donate to Zamalek due to the financial crisis the club is currently facing.
Ikrami said in new statements: "I apologize for the opinion I expressed about the 2 pounds, one of the colleagues came out with you saying that Zamalek is not an orphanage for such things to be said, and someone said that Zamalek does not beg, so such words should not be said."
He added: "I apologize for what I said, but I want to see the gentlemen who said that, what are your suggestions for Zamalek to get out of this crisis?"
He continued: "I said this from the bottom of my heart, there is no mockery or celebration at Zamalek, anyone who has a useful opinion or suggestion should come out and say it."
