The management of the Italian club Milan is working on extending the contract of Croatian midfielder Luka Modric for an additional season, following the impressive levels he has shown with the team since joining at the beginning of the current season.

Modric joined Milan on a free transfer last summer after his contract with the Spanish club Real Madrid ended, and he has participated in 13 matches so far, scoring one goal and providing one assist, significantly contributing to the improvement of the midfield performance.

According to journalist "Ikram Konor," the Milan management has already begun the procedures to extend Modric's contract for another year, allowing him to remain with the team until the end of next season, after the veteran player, who is 40 years old, proved to be the beating heart of the midfield.

Modric's current contract extends for only one season, with an option to extend for an additional year, which the Milan management intends to activate to retain the services of the Croatian star.

Throughout his professional career, Luka Modric has played 900 matches with various clubs he represented, scoring 97 goals and providing 141 assists, and he has won a large number of titles, most notably with Real Madrid, where he won 6 UEFA Champions League titles, 4 La Liga titles, 5 FIFA Club World Cups, 5 UEFA Super Cups, 2 Copa del Rey titles, and 5 domestic super cups, in addition to an Intercontinental Cup title.

Modric also won 3 Croatian league titles, 2 cups, and 1 domestic super cup with his first team Dinamo Zagreb, along with winning the Ballon d'Or and The Best award for the best player in the world in 2018.
