The website "Football Italia" revealed that Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee wishes to leave Manchester United during the upcoming winter transfer window in January, in order to gain more playing time, amid interest from both Roma and Como in signing him.

According to the same source, Zirkzee fears losing his place in the Netherlands national team for the 2026 World Cup due to the lack of minutes he is getting with Manchester United this season.

The report noted that Roma's coach Gian Piero Gasperini is a fan of Zirkzee and welcomes his joining the team during the winter transfer window, indicating that Roma is currently leading the race to sign the Dutch striker.

The source also clarified that Como has entered the negotiations and has become a strong competitor to Roma, thanks to its strong financial stability, despite being absent from European competitions this season, adding that Como's management is seriously considering making an official offer to acquire the player in January 2026.
