The Curse of Injuries Continues to Haunt Dani Olmo
Tuesday 14-10-2025
The Spanish star Dani Olmo, player of FC Barcelona, continues to suffer from recurring injuries, after recently sustaining a new injury to his calf muscle while in the Spain national team camp, which will keep him off the pitch for nearly a month, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Marca'.

The newspaper clarified that Olmo will miss at least four matches with Barcelona, continuing his long record of injuries that have plagued him in recent years. Since joining the Catalan team just a season and a half ago, the player has missed a significant number of matches due to recurring muscle issues.

During last season, Olmo missed 17 matches out of 67 available matches, with an absence rate of about 25%, which is actually his best rate in the last five years, as he had missed 25 matches in the 2023/2024 season, 24 matches in the 2022/2023 season, and 15 matches in the 2021/2022 season.

The Spanish newspaper 'Marca' confirmed that Olmo has suffered 11 different injuries over the last four and a half seasons, causing him to be sidelined for a total of 377 days, noting that the player aims to return for the upcoming El Clásico against Real Madrid on October 26.

Olmo hopes to recover quickly so he can return to the starting lineup of coach Hans Flick, after his recurring injuries have deprived him of stability and regular participation with the team.
