Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Ignites the Enthusiasm of the Green Falcons Before the Decisive Match Against Iraq

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, the Minister of Sports, followed the training of the Saudi national team on Sunday evening in Jeddah, as part of his support and motivation for the players before the anticipated match against the Iraqi national team, scheduled for Tuesday, as part of the conclusion of the second group in the Asian playoff qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

The team conducted its training under the supervision of French coach Hervé Renard on the auxiliary pitch of the "Al-Inma" complex, where the technical staff intensified efforts to enhance the technical and physical readiness before the match that will determine the official qualifier for the World Cup.

The Minister of Sports made sure to talk with the players and the technical staff, praising the level they showed in the previous match against Indonesia, and expressing his great confidence in their ability to secure the qualification ticket and continue the honorable journey of Saudi football.

Prince Abdulaziz was accompanied during the visit by Yasser Al-Mashel, the President of the Saudi Football Federation, who, in turn, appreciated the significant support the team receives from the sports leadership at various stages.

The Saudi team had opened its campaign in the group with a victory over its Indonesian counterpart with a score of 3-2, earning the first three points, before leveling with the Iraqi team, which defeated the same opponent by one goal to none.

The "Green" needs only one point from its upcoming match against Iraq to ensure official passage to the 2026 World Cup finals, benefiting from its superiority in the number of goals scored during previous encounters.
