Media personality Munir Al-Khatem urged the management of Al-Ittihad Club to include a disciplinary clause in the contract of Portuguese coach Sérgio Conceição to limit any potential violations, given his sharp personality and previous clashes with players and management.

Al-Khatem explained that some Saudi clubs, such as Al-Khaleej, have previously adopted this approach with coach Donis, where an agreement was made to prevent any angry statements or public criticisms towards players or management, with a financial penalty imposed for breaching the agreement.

The media personality confirmed that implementing a similar policy at Al-Ittihad would contribute to regulating the relationship between the technical and administrative staff, maintaining team stability, and avoiding any media or internal tensions that could negatively impact performance.

Conceição is known for his strictness in dealing with his players, as he does not tolerate those who slack off in training or violate team discipline, as was evident during his previous stint with AC Milan.

During that experience, the Portuguese coach caused the departure of several prominent names such as Álvaro Morata to Galatasaray and Davide Calabria to Bologna, and he had disputes with Tomori, Theo Hernández, and Leão due to poor defensive commitment.

It is expected that Conceição's discipline will positively reflect on Al-Ittihad, as he is known for his ability to revive the brilliance of star players and discover promising talents, as he did with Porto when he introduced players like Luis Díaz, Otávio, and Diego Costa to the global stage.

The continuous selling policy at Porto was a major reason for his departure from the club despite the significant successes he achieved there, before taking on the role with Al-Ittihad amid expectations that he will leave a strong mark in the Roshan Saudi League.
