Iraq Players Unite on One Promise After Victory Over Indonesia

Iraqi national team players have agreed on one promise to the fans of the Black Falcons, after achieving a valuable victory over the Indonesian team with a score of (1-0), in the Asian playoff qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, in the match held at Al-Jawhara Stadium in Jeddah, with the only goal of the match scored by Zidan Iqbal in the (76th) minute.

Zidan Iqbal said: "The victory against Indonesia was extremely important; we succeeded in completing the difficult task, and the credit goes to my teammates who delivered a high-level fighting performance. Here we are, getting closer to achieving the big dream of qualifying for the World Cup."

He added: "Everyone within the team believes in the World Cup dream, and we have great confidence in coach Graham Arnold. We will fight with all we have in the next match against Saudi Arabia, and now we need to rest and prepare mentally and physically for that decisive confrontation."

For his part, Youssef Amin said: "I am happy for Zidan Iqbal; he deserved to score the winning goal, he is a wonderful and hardworking player, and this goal is a reward for his great effort in training and matches."

He continued: "We promise the Iraqi fans that we will do our utmost in the next match; we will fight until the last minute for victory and qualification. The match against Saudi Arabia will be pivotal, and we must be in our best physical and mental condition to achieve what is required."

Player Ibrahim Baish said: "We achieved the most important thing against Indonesia, which is the victory, even though we did not show the level we aspire to. However, we promise our fans that we will be stronger and better against the Saudi team."

Baish added: "We recognize the difficulty of the upcoming match, but we trust in our abilities and the work of the coaching staff led by Graham Arnold, and we will play with passion and determination to achieve the dream of the Iraqi fans in reaching the World Cup for the second time in history."

He concluded by noting that the Iraqi national team will face the Saudi counterpart at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium at 9:45 PM next Tuesday, in a match awaited by millions of fans of the Black Falcons.
