The Brazilian club Corinthians has begun new moves to renegotiate with Caio Cesar, the star of Saudi Al Hilal, as part of its plan to strengthen its squad in 2026, after the previous attempt stumbled due to coach Simone Inzaghi's insistence on keeping the player.

The Brazilian newspaper "Bolavip" reported that Corinthians is currently working to reopen communication channels with the 21-year-old Brazilian winger, who is considered one of the most promising talents due to his speed, high dribbling ability, and chance creation.

The Brazilian club had started its initial negotiations in mid-2025 to sign Caio, but the coaching staff of Al Hilal refused to let him go at that time, preferring to keep him to closely monitor his performance before making a final decision about his future.

Despite the negotiations being halted for a while, Corinthians' management did not close the file completely and continued to monitor the player during the current season, especially after his return from a muscle injury that affected his participation with "The Leader" in recent months.

Corinthians plans to make a loan offer with a purchase option, which the management sees as suitable for its financial circumstances, especially since Caio's contract with Al Hilal extends until 2028, and his current market value is estimated at around 5 million euros.

Caio has participated in 26 matches with Al Hilal since joining, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists, but the strong competition with the team's stars has reduced his chances of appearing as a starter recently.

Corinthians coach Dorival Junior believes that the player possesses the technical skills needed to strengthen the team's attacking wings, as the club is currently suffering from the absence of a player with the same characteristics as Caio in terms of speed and penetration.

The management of the Brazilian club closely monitors the player's situation within Al Hilal, in light of reports suggesting that the Saudi club intends to make adjustments to its foreign roster during the upcoming summer, which could bring negotiations back to the forefront again.

It is worth noting that Caio joined Al Hilal in January 2025 from Portuguese Vitoria Guimarães, after a successful experience in which he played 33 matches with the Portuguese team, scoring 4 goals and providing 8 assists, which made him a target for several clubs in Brazil and Europe.
