Nagelsmann Talks About the Big Win Against Luxembourg
Saturday 11-10-2025
The German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann appeared in press statements after the victory over Luxembourg in the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The coach said: "Not everything was perfect, but we did many things right. The desire was clearly there, and we could have scored more goals. The opponent defended deeply, and after the red card, they became even more withdrawn, and when you play against a team that defends like this, having an extra player doesn't make a big difference."

He added: "In the end, we deserved the win, and it was very important for us. We pressed well and regained the ball quickly, but it is always difficult to create chances when all the opposing players are in their area."

Regarding Serge Gnabry's performance, the German coach said: "He had a fantastic performance. It is important for the player to fulfill his defensive duties and close spaces during transitions, even against teams like Luxembourg, Serge did that excellently, and he was also good on the offensive side."

He concluded his remarks about having five Bayern Munich players in the starting lineup: "Currently, the largest blocks in the national team come from Bayern and Dortmund. Bayern is having a remarkable season, and of course, players like Kane and Oulis have an important role, but the German players are also very influential, Pavlovic has been participating more recently, and Jonathan Tah has become more stable, while Kimmich has maintained his high level for years."
