Marcel Koller, the former coach of Al Ahly, sent a congratulatory message to the fans of Egypt after qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

Koller said on Facebook: "Congratulations to the Egyptian national team for qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. This success is the result of continuous work, team spirit, and determination over many years."

He continued: "A special congratulations to all the players, the coaching staff, the support staff, the federation, and everyone who participated – and of course to the Egyptian fans, who always passionately support their team."

He added: "During my time with Al Ahly, I had the honor of working with many of these players."

He concluded: "I was impressed by their professionalism, passion, and mentality as they continue to shape this team today; a great moment for Egyptian football."
