According to 'Football Italia', English club Chelsea has started monitoring Argentine striker Santiago Castro, who plays for Italian club Bologna, in preparation for a potential transfer in the upcoming period, as the club has sent scouts to observe him during recent matches.

The same source reports that Castro, who is 21 years old and considered one of the rising talents in Argentina, has caught the attention of coach Enzo Maresca.

The player joined Bologna in January 2024 from Velez Sarsfield for 13.2 million euros, and his current contract runs until June 2028. He has participated in five matches in the Italian league this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

The Football Italia report indicated that Bologna is aware of the growing interest in the player, who was also a target for Inter Milan and Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia last summer, noting that his market value currently ranges between 45 and 50 million euros if the club decides to sell.
