Walid Salah: I spoke with Sorob before
Walid Salah, the football director at Al-Ahly club, revealed the reasons for contracting with Yas Sorob to take over the first team coaching position, explaining that he had spoken with him before.
Salah stated in his remarks: "We asked the Danish coach several questions, and he answered them wonderfully. We asked if he had a specific philosophy and if the team was unable to implement it, could he change it, and his response was that he has flexibility and changes his style of play according to the team."
He added: "All of Sorob's responses to us were very convincing, and we inquired about him and watched many of his matches both on and off the field. We saw how he interacts with the fans and also the media, which he deals with in the best way."
He continued: "The hardest decision I have made at Al-Ahly so far is the decision to exclude Zizo and Afsha from the match against Zamalek. The duo returned from injury two days before the summit, and I spoke with Emad Nasr and the team doctor."
He went on: "We agreed that if the duo participated in the match, it would be a big risk, and we might lose Zizo and Afsha for a long time. Therefore, we decided not to play them in the match, and later the duo participated in the match against Ismailia's Electricity and were the reason for the victory."
He concluded his statements: "If Al-Ahly focuses solely on football, we will win all the championships comfortably, but many are trying to divert the team to any discussions outside of football."
