Dutch star Frenkie de Jong, a player for FC Barcelona, has expressed his rejection of the decision to hold his team's match against Villarreal in the American city of Miami, considering the move unfair from a sporting perspective and not in the best interest of the players.

De Jong stated in press remarks: "Honestly, I don't like the decision. I understand the clubs' position because they will achieve financial gains and may want to expand their brand globally, but I am not supportive of it."

He added: "It is not good for the players, as we are already suffering from a busy schedule and frequent travel, and this decision will increase fatigue."

The Dutchman continued his criticism of the competitive aspect of the decision: "It is unfair for a match that is supposed to be played at our home to take place on neutral ground. This disrupts the principle of equal opportunities."

He concluded: "It is natural that other clubs are unhappy about this. This is a Spanish league, and it is strange for some of its matches to be played in America. In my opinion, this is illogical."
