Ratcliffe Decides the Fate of Ruben Amorim Definitively
Wednesday 08-10-2025
The co-owner of Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has reaffirmed his full support for Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, despite the criticisms the team has faced after its unconvincing start to the season.

In statements to The Business Podcast, Ratcliffe said: "Even if the club's owners (the Glazer family) asked me to sack Amorim, that won't happen. Yes, Ruben hasn't had his best season so far, but he needs to prove that he is a great coach over three years, and that is the perspective I adopt."

He added: "You cannot manage a club like Manchester United with hasty reactions based on what the press says, which changes its opinion every week. Stability and patience are what the project needs to bear fruit."

These statements confirm the club's management's long-term confidence in Amorim, despite fluctuating results, and their belief in his ability to lead a rebuilding project at United without succumbing to media and fan pressures.
