The newspaper "Le Parisien" reported that Maiolo, who started the match and delivered a remarkable performance in midfield, had to leave the field in the 59th minute, before medical examinations confirmed his muscle injury.
The French Federation clarified in its statement that the coach has not yet named the player who will replace Maiolo, indicating that the technical staff will take its time before making a final decision.
