First Comment from Abdul Ghani Shahid After the Loss Against Al-Jaish
After his team's loss to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in the Iraqi Stars League Classic, Al-Zawraa coach Abdul Ghani Shahid appeared at the press conference with signs of sadness and disappointment, confirming that his team performed well despite the defeat, but lacked the decisive touch in front of the goal.
Shahid said: "We apologize to the loyal Al-Zawraa fans, and at the same time, we congratulate Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya on their victory, even though we were the better side in the match in terms of control and creating chances."
He added: "Anyone who watched the match knows that Al-Zawraa dominated the game throughout the ninety minutes and managed to impose its style for most of the match, but the endings were painful for us."
He explained: "In today's match, we delivered a high-level performance, and we were more organized and spread out on the field than Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, but we lacked focus in crucial moments that could have changed the result of the match."
He continued: "I was confident in the team's return based on the performance and level shown by the players, but the absence of decisiveness in front of the goal made us lose points that we deserved."
He noted: "The difference today was only in the final touch, as the endings depend on the quality of players capable of converting chances into goals, and this is a point we will work to correct in the next phase."
He concluded: "In all matches, we create many chances, but we fail to score, and this requires double psychological and tactical work to restore confidence to the strikers."
Abdul Ghani Shahid ended his remarks by saying: "There will be a meeting soon with the club management to discuss the future of the upcoming phase and to put in place appropriate solutions to bring the team back to the path of victories and to please the fans whose support we greatly appreciate."
