Real Madrid achieved a deserved victory against Villarreal with a score of 3-1 in the eighth round of La Liga, in a match held at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Real Madrid raised its points tally to 21, temporarily sitting at the top of La Liga, two points ahead of Barcelona, who will play their match on Sunday against Sevilla, while Villarreal's points remained at 16 in third place.

The first half of the match did not witness many opportunities despite Real Madrid's superiority in terms of control and possession of the ball, while Villarreal relied on quick counter-attacks.

Mastantuno was one of the standout players for Real Madrid in the second half, being behind all of the royal team's dangerous attempts, while Courtois saved his goal from a certain goal in the 40th minute after a clear one-on-one situation.

At the beginning of the second half, Vinicius Junior scored Real Madrid's first goal after a ball reached him from Mbappe, before he entered the penalty area and shot a ball that deflected off a Villarreal player's foot and found the net in the 47th minute.

In the 68th minute, Vinicius earned a penalty kick which he converted into a second goal, while Villarreal managed to reduce the deficit through Giorgi Mikutadze with a shot from outside the penalty area in the 73rd minute.

In the 77th minute, Villarreal played with ten men after Mourinho was sent off with a second yellow card, before Kylian Mbappe scored a third goal for Real Madrid after a pass from Ibrahim Diaz in the 80th minute.
