Announcement of the Iraqi National Team List for Asian Playoff Matches

Iraqi national team coach Graham Arnold announced the official squad for the Asian playoff matches qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, where Iraq will face Indonesia on October 11 of this month, and then meet Saudi Arabia on the 14th of the same month in the city of Jeddah.

The squad includes 28 players distributed across three positions as follows:

Goalkeepers: Jalal Hassan, Ahmed Basal, Fahd Taleb.

Defenders: Ribin Solaka, Manaf Younis, Ahmed Yahya, Mustafa Saadoun, Akam Hashim, Zaid Tahseen, Mirxas Doski, Frans Batros, Hussein Ali.

Midfielders: Amir Al-Amari, Imar Sher, Osama Rashid, Ibrahim Bayesh, Kevin Yaqoub, Zidan Iqbal, Sherko Karim, Marco Faraj, Muntadhar Al-Majid, Bashar Rasan, Ali Jassim, Hassan Abdulkarim.

Forwards: Ayman Hussein, Muhannad Ali, Ammar Mohsen.




The list saw the absence of Mohammed Qassem for technical reasons, and Ali Al-Hamadi due to unfitness, while Ammar Mohsen's name emerged as a surprise in the forward position.
