Al-Zawraa team is looking forward to its anticipated match in the Iraqi Stars League for the 2025-2026 season, when it faces its traditional rival Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in the Iraqi Clasico, scheduled to be held next Sunday at the International City Stadium at 8:30 PM Baghdad time.

Special sources revealed to winwin that the coaching staff of the Al-Nawras team, led by Abdul Ghani Shahid, is experiencing a state of anxiety following the wave of fan anger towards the team's recent results, as they have only managed to achieve one victory in their last four matches on both local and Asian levels, which has raised concerns within the Al-Zawraa camp.

The sources indicated that the coaching staff has started working effectively from today to prepare the players psychologically, especially after the loss to Al-Nassr Saudi in the AFC Champions League 2. The primary goal will be to eliminate physical fatigue and regain recovery before focusing on the technical aspects to correct the mistakes that have recently appeared, in an effort to present a better image in the Clasico match.

Despite the short time between the matches against Al-Nassr and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, the Al-Zawraa coaching staff is only considering victory, in order to hit two birds with one stone: achieving the first local victory of the current season and reconciling the angry fans, as there is no better opportunity than winning in the Clasico match to regain confidence.

Sources revealed that Abdul Ghani Shahid will heavily rely on the trio Hassan Abdul Karim (Qouqia), Mohammed Qassem, and Rizq Bani Hani, as the coaching staff preferred not to start them in the match against Al-Nassr Saudi, to give them some rest so they can be fully prepared for the match against Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya.

Al-Zawraa suffered its first defeat of the season against Al-Nassr Saudi with a score of (0-2) last Wednesday in the AFC Champions League 2, while on the local level, it occupies the sixteenth position in the Iraqi Stars League standings with only two points, gathered from two draws against Al-Talaba and Al-Karama, along with a postponed match against Al-Shorta.
