Both Milan, Napoli, and Roma top the Serie A table with 12 points each, after four victories and one defeat for each team. The Rossoneri's victory over the defending champions raises questions about Napoli's ability to retain its title, despite spending over 150 million euros on new signings this summer, along with acquiring star Kevin De Bruyne for free from Manchester City.

Massimiliano Allegri, the head coach of Milan, confirmed that Napoli remains the top contender for the title due to the strength of its squad, but he expressed confidence in his team's ability to turn the tables this season. Meanwhile, Antonio Conte, Napoli's coach, refrained from naming any team as the primary favorite, noting that clubs like Milan, Inter, and Juventus always remain in contention due to their history and value.
