Nuno Mendes, the Paris Saint-Germain full-back, expressed his pride in the team's performance after the 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the second round of the Champions League group stage, confirming that the young players delivered an excellent match despite numerous absences and injuries.

Mendes said: "It was a close match, but we always believe in ourselves. We have many injuries, but the players who played were at the highest level. Senny Maiolo and Quentin Ndianto, who came on as a substitute and is a new young player, were excellent."

He continued: "This is what we need, players who come to help us and play football in our style. We showed our work; even with many injuries, we were at our best level."
