Guardiola Explains the Draw Against Monaco
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola appeared in press statements after the 2-2 draw against Monaco in the second round of the Champions League group stage.
The coach said: "It was a good match. We made some decisions and created many chances. Unfortunately, in the end, we defended a free kick incorrectly, and a penalty was awarded that Nico touched first, without any intent. But that’s what happened. We have a point, and we will take advantage of it."
Regarding whether the penalty at the end was fair: "I don’t know if it was a penalty, but it was awarded. That’s all there is to it."
On Erling Haaland scoring two goals: "He is very good, he plays to score goals, very good. You have to find him, and when they play with central defenders and defensive midfielders, it wasn’t easy to find him, but he scored goals."
About Rodri's exit after the 60th minute: "It’s a step-by-step process. 90 minutes were tough for him."
