Michael Carrick Among Manchester United Options If Amorim Leaves
Wednesday 01-10-2025
The British newspaper "The Sun" reported that Manchester United is exploring the possibility of bringing in Michael Carrick as an interim manager, should they decide to part ways with the current coach, Ruben Amorim, although management is still showing confidence in him for now.

The newspaper clarified that Manchester United is also monitoring several names from the Premier League such as Oliver Glasner, Andoni Iraola, and Fabian Hurzeler, in anticipation of any potential changes in the coaching staff.

Carrick, who is 44 years old, temporarily took charge in November and December 2021, leading the team to two victories and a draw before stepping down with the arrival of Ralph Rangnick as interim coach. "The Sun" also noted that Carrick remains close to the club, especially since his son, Jacey, plays in the Manchester United academy and leads the under-16 team.

The newspaper added that Carrick, who left Middlesbrough coaching last summer, has recently reappeared at football and social events with club legends, alongside entering the field of technical analysis and sports media.
