Inter Coach Talks About Important Win Over Slavia Prague
The head coach of Inter, Cristian Kivu, expressed his great satisfaction with the performance of his players after the victory over Slavia Prague 3-0 in the second round of the Champions League group stage.
The coach said: "It was an important match, and we treated it with complete seriousness. Our position on the field was normal, and the players' performance met expectations."
He added, speaking about the development of the team's performance since taking over from Simone Inzaghi last summer: "It's like walking on a tightrope; you have to maintain balance. The players always try to enjoy playing, but the most important thing is to have the right passion without losing focus or seriousness. I feel they are developing, and they have acted wonderfully since the beginning of the season."
The Romanian coach addressed the condition of striker Marcus Thuram, who was seen limping after the match: "Thuram told me it’s just a muscle strain. We will conduct some tests tomorrow and hope it’s not serious."
Regarding making 7 changes to the lineup: "Since we only had 72 hours between matches, I wanted to give some players who haven’t participated much a chance while maintaining the quality and cohesion of the team."
He concluded by saying: "I am happy that I was able to give Besic and Zielinski some minutes, and I also rested several players, especially since some of them will join their national teams and play two additional matches."
