The team's training saw the return of defender Hassan Kadash to participate in collective training after completing his therapeutic and rehabilitation program for the injury that sidelined him from matches in recent times.

Press reports confirmed that the coaching staff, led by interim coach Hassan Khalifa, will decide within the coming hours whether to include Kadash in the match based on his physical and technical readiness.

The Union hopes to benefit from the return of their player, especially after losing in the first round of the tournament against Al Wahda from the UAE by two goals to one, which puts them under pressure to achieve a positive result against Al Ahli Youth.

On the local front, the team suffered another loss in the Roshan Saudi League against Al Nassr with a score of 0-2 in the fourth round, which increased the pressure on the management and coaching staff.

The Union management had decided to dismiss French coach Laurent Blanc after the defeat to Al Nassr and temporarily assigned the task to Hassan Khalifa until a new foreign coach is contracted to lead the team in the upcoming phase.
