Severe Penalties on the Malaysian National Team
Saturday 27-09-2025
The Disciplinary Committee of FIFA decided to fine the Malaysian Football Association an amount of $438,700 and to ban seven players who were naturalized by submitting forged documents.

The seven players have been banned from participating in any sports activities for at least one year, with a fine of $2,507 imposed on each player.

FIFA also referred the issue of the players' eligibility to its sports court following a complaint filed by the Vietnamese Football Association regarding the ineligibility of the players who represented the Malaysian national team during the match between the two teams in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers (which ended with Malaysia winning 4-0).
